Rossi & Elias Fall in Assen Free Practice

During yesterday's free practice sessions for the Assen TT both Valentino Rossi and Toni Elias suffered nasty crashes whilst Colin Edwards went fastest.
After a trip to the Clinica Mobile it was confirmed that Rossi had hairline fractures to his right hand and ankle, however that was fortunately the extent of the damage and the #46 rider was back on track for FP2 in the afternoon. Elias, who re-injured an already broken left shoulder, has been forced to pull out of this weekend's race.
With many of the top championship contenders going into the weekend injured as a result of the chaotic Catalunya GP and Rossi hurt after his fall in free practice it's fair to say that the Assen TT represents a good opportunity for many of the riders who have not yet had great results this year.
