Rossi Dominates Mugello Free Practice

Following the announcement earlier this week that Valentino Rossi would remain at Yamaha in 2007, the defending champ has dominated today's free practice sessions at the Italian Mugello circuit. Valentino, for whom this is the home race, went fastest in both FP1 and FP2, closely followed by both Ducatis.
Unusually, times did not generally improve for FP2 as a result of some light rain falling between the two sessions, resulting in a slower circuit. Outside of the top three places, Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri were consistently quick and John Hopkins managed to put in a 1'52.082 to go fourth fastest in the second session.
