More testing on four wheels for Rossi

The Italian MotoGP website Motograndprix.it is reporting that Valentino Rossi has been trying his hand in yet another area of motorsport. The World Champ drove a Maserati MC12 in a secret test on Friday (10th February).

This test was apparently a brief one, with Rossi completing just 15 laps of the Italian Misano circuit. Despite that, his time of a 1'27 was just a few tenths off that of regular team driver Marco Cioci, a driver with experience in the Indy Racing League.

Valentino has now completed tests in Formula One, World Rally Championship and GT machines.

Further tests with Ferrari have been confirmed, but for the immediate future Rossi's attention will be focussed squarely on MotoGP, as the Camel Yamaha team will begin a three day test in Sepang tomorrow.
