The Camel Yamaha team director Davide Brivio said that yesterday was 'a very useful and interesting day for us and we were able to collect a lot of important information which we believe will help'.

The team also sent Valentino Rossi out on the 2005 machine to compare performance between that and this year's M1. In Brivio's words 'a few things about the ’05 bike are better at the moment, but overall it seems the ’06 bike is still a more improved package and Valentino’s fastest times today were on the 2006-spec M1'.

After this 'encouraging' session the team will be looking to take charge at Qatar, something they have to do to make up for the Spanish GP results which left Rossi and Edwards in 11th and 14th in the championship respectively and Yamaha at the bottom of the constructors championship.
