The MotoGP teams remained at the Jerez circuit on Monday for a brief test session. It concluded with Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden going fastest, but perhaps more interesting was the fact that Yamaha ended the day saying that they had 'found some solutions' to their recent problems with the M1.
The team also sent Valentino Rossi out on the 2005 machine to compare performance between that and this year's M1. In Brivio's words 'a few things about the ’05 bike are better at the moment, but overall it seems the ’06 bike is still a more improved package and Valentino’s fastest times today were on the 2006-spec M1'. After this 'encouraging' session the team will be looking to take charge at Qatar, something they have to do to make up for the Spanish GP results which left Rossi and Edwards in 11th and 14th in the championship respectively and Yamaha at the bottom of the constructors championship.
