It was a difficult Qatar GP for the Fortuna Honda team, with Marco Melandri having some setup problems and Toni Elias getting a visor full of oil as the GSV-R of John Hopkins gave up a few laps just a few laps in. Nonetheless the riders finished 7th and 8th respectively with Melandri fighting with Dani Pedrosa for most of the race.Marco Melandri
Toni Elias"We've done a great job over the two days of practice and I was hoping for more than this today. I didn't get a good start and I paid the price for that. Then Hopkins' engine began to drop oil and I had to shut off the throttle, sending me even further back. My visor was covered in oil and after losing contact with the lead group it became a really hard race for me. I'm disappointed because I know I could have had a nice race today."
