Page 1 of 2 The Kawasaki team may not have been able to complete many laps on the final day of the Sepang test, but will have undoubtedly raised some eyebrows with Shinya Nakano going fastest yesterday. As well as working on the general set-up of the Kawasaki ZX-RR, Nakano spent the first day of the test working on various engine settings and components designed to improve top end power and 'driveability'. Whilst continuing to tweak the engine settings on day two, an adjustment that allowed for more over-rev from the 990cc inline four motor resulted in Super Shinya posting the fastest time of the day. Nakano was only able to complete 31 laps on a dry track today as the weather took a turn for the worse, but did manage to complete planned tyre tests for Bridgestone. Randy de Puniet celebrated his 25th birthday on Tuesday; presumably briefly, as the French rider completed nearly 60 more laps than teammate Nakano over the course of the test as he prepares for his first season in the MotoGP class.
